Believe it or not, it’s time to start considering submitting your beautiful photos for a chance to be featured in the 2023 Chappaquiddick Community Center Calendar!

The annual Chappy calendar is a project everyone affiliated with Chappaquiddick looks forward to seeing.  We are pleased to announce we will continue with this long-standing tradition and will soon begin preparing to produce the 2024 calendars.  It all starts with your photo submission! 

 The Deadline to submit your photos is July 28.  Voting will start on July 31 st and end on Aug.  20th.  Please consider submitting your wonderful photo(s) of Chappaquiddick in its many moods and beautiful vistas by 3 PM, Friday, July 28, for a chance to win the annual photo contest.  Overall 14 photo winners will be featured (front/back cover & 12 months).

GUIDELINES FOR THE 2024 CALENDAR PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST

  1. Photographs should be horizontal and close to 10 ̋ wide x 8 ̋ h  GH.  Digital copies must be submitted along with the hard copy (file size must be at least 300 PPI 101⁄2 ̋ x 7 ̋ ).
  2. No more than three (3) submissions per person.
  3. Color photos only.  (No black & white, framed, or Polaroid photos will be accepted.)
  4. Only photographs of Chappy will be accepted.  No photos of people or pets, please.
  5. Back of photo: your name, address, phone number, email, the image’s title, the month and location it was shot.  No names or identification should appear on the front of any photograph.
  6. The submission deadline is 3 PM Friday, July 28, 2022, with voting beginning July 31st, and ending on August 20th, 2023.
  7. Voting: one ballot per person.  The photograph receiving the most votes will appear on the front cover of the 2024 calendars, and the picture receiving the second-most votes will appear on the back cover.
  8. All photographs not selected for the 2024 calendar will be available for pickup at the Chappy Community Center after August 27, 2022.
  9. By entering this photo contest, you agree to allow the Chappy Community Center to use your photographs in the upcoming 2024 calendars.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You must drop off hard copies of your named photos by noon, July 28, 2022, so they can be displayed for voting.  Your image has not been officially entered until you do so.  Good Luck!

Sales of the calendar are a significant source of income applied to CCC operating expenses; therefore, we are grateful to all who participated in the photo contest and purchased the calendar.  We want to thank our 2023 Calendar Advertisers and encourage you to support their businesses and encourage new advertisers for 2024. 

Remember to follow these steps for your photo submission(s): 

  1. Name your photo (for example, “Moonlight Over Chappy”)
  2. To be considered, please send your high-resolution, named photo to chappyccenter@gmail.com by noon, July 28, 2022.
  3. Drop hard copies off for the voting display by noon, July 28.
